vaginal-creams

Vaginal creams are to be inserted into the vagina using a special applicator. Follow these simple steps:

  • Remove the applicator from its packaging. Unscrew the tube cap. When using the cream for the first time, you may need to break the tube’s seal using the cap.
  • Attach the applicator to the open tube, securing it in place.
  • Squeeze the tube until the applicator is filled with the desired amount.
  • Remove the applicator from the tube.
  • Recap the tube securely for storage.

  • Lie on your back with your knees bent and insert the cream-filled applicator in the vagina as far as it will comfortably go.
  • Push the plunger to eject the cream. Remove the applicator. You can also spread a small amount of cream on your vulva.

Note
Clean the applicator with soap and hot water after each use.

Apply vaginal cream at bedtime to avoid leakage during the day. You can use a sanitary pad to protect your clothes, but do not use tampons during the treatment.

Certain vaginal creams can damage condoms and reduce their efficacy. Check with your pharmacist to find out if this applies to the type of cream you are using. If you are pregnant, ask your pharmacist about the safe use of vaginal creams during pregnancy.
