DIRECTIONS FOR USE: TURBUHALER™
- Unscrew and remove the cover.
- To load a dose: hold the inhaler upright and turn the coloured grip as far as it will go in one direction, then turn it back again as far as it will go in the opposite direction. You should hear a click sound. If you do not hear it, you will not receive any medication. If you are not sure that you heard the “click”, you may repeat the operation. You will not receive a double dose by mistake.
- If you are using a new inhaler, repeat the preceding step before using it for the first time. Otherwise, load only one dose before each use.
- Turn your head away from the inhaler and exhale deeply.
- Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips around it. Do not chew the mouthpiece.
- Inhale forcefully and deeply.
- Hold your breath for 10 seconds, or longer if you can.
- Remove the inhaler from your mouth then exhale slowly.
- If you need to take another dose of the same drug, wait at least 1 minute before taking it and do not forget to load the next dose.
Before storing your inhaler, ensure to replace the cover and maintain cleanliness by wiping the outside of the mouthpiece with a dry cloth on a weekly basis—avoid using water or any other fluids for cleaning. If the inhaler is dropped after loading a dose or if unintentional breathing into it occurs, the dose will be lost. In such cases, repeating the steps outlined above is necessary. It is typical not to taste or feel the medication when inhaling dry powder, but some residue may adhere to the mouth and throat. To minimize the risk of side effects, rinsing your mouth with water after each use is recommended. The Turbuhaler™ inhaler is designed with a dose indicator, visible through a window under the mouthpiece. A red mark signals approximately 20 doses remaining, and when it reaches the bottom, the inhaler is empty. Inhalers with dose counters display the number of remaining doses in the window. Even when empty, these inhalers continue to produce a sound when shaken.
