DIRECTIONS FOR USE: RECTAL OINTMENTS

Rectal ointments are used to treat inflammation or infections that occur in the rectal area. They are to be applied around or inside the anus. To apply rectal ointment, follow these steps:

Wash the anus and the surrounding area with soap and water.

For external application, apply a thin layer of ointment around the anus.

For internal application: Uncap the tube and squeeze gently to allow some ointment to escape. Use it to lubricate the applicator. Attach the applicator to the tube, then gently insert the applicator into the rectum. Squeeze to release the medication.

Wash your hands with soap and water afterwards. Also wash the applicator thoroughly and recap the tube.
Apply the rectal ointment after each bowel movement or as prescribed.
